Dear Lincolnite,

Congratulations on your academic achievements, and on your admission to Lincoln University! You are embarking upon a new phase in your life - that of being a student at Lincoln University.  Your participation in one of the upcoming orientation programs will be important to help you transition into this new phase.  I encourage you and your parents to take full advantage of the orientation to learn more about Lincoln University and all it has to offer.

I have recently completed my seventh year as president here at Lincoln University.  I want you to know that I believe you are joining one of the best universities in the nation.

Lincoln was founded by brave civil war soldiers and officers who wanted to provide for the educational needs of a diverse community of learners.  They left us a great legacy!  Since our beginning in 1866 with two students, we have grown to enroll over 3000 two-year, undergraduate, graduate and professional students.  Our distinguished alumni were once students like you and, today they are successful leaders and citizens, who contribute much to our great nation and the world.

The achievements of our alumni are a reflection of the excellent education they received as students.  As a student, you also will have this same opportunity to excel in academics, student leadership, and in national and international competitions.  Additionally, you may join other students who participate in community projects, local and national internship programs, as well as pure and applied research in a wide variety of areas.

Our nationally recognized faculty members are dedicated to the success of each student.  They will provide you with challenging opportunities to enhance your learning experience. I encourage you to meet  your professors and fellow students, and to learn from the great diversity of ideas and experiences offered through the variety of academic and student activity programs.

Your studies at Lincoln University will enhance and advance your life through continued learning, and personal development.  As I wish you success throughout your years here at LU, I invite you to call on me at any time.

I look forward to meeting you in the very near future.
