Career Counseling & Disability Services

Mission Statement

The mission of Career Counseling and Disability Services (CCDS) is to provide high quality services in the area of career counseling and disability services to the University's diverse student population. Additionally, CCDS serves as a support system in conjunction with the academic areas, while simultaneously promoting student growth and development, thus contributing to the learning process beyond the classroom.


Role

 

 

The mission of Career Counseling and Disability Services involves the following:

1.    Provide assessments and counseling which assist students to internalize their potential as citizens in the competitive American society

2.    To refer students requiring counseling services beyond those offered by Career Counseling & Disability Services to appropriate local agencies

3.    To facilitate and provide leadership in the University's efforts to comply with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American with Disabilities Act, and;

4.    To contribute to the recruitment and retention rates of prospective and current students
